Our Mission
To make healthcare systems around the world safer you need to know the amount of preventable harm they cause and how to reduce it. That’s where we come in. At the moment there are too many versions of this uncomfortable truth. So we will help improve patient safety by commissioning research that highlights the extent and causes of avoidable harm and the policies and interventions that will minimise it.
Our Research
We have an ambitious research programme looking into a wide variety of patient safety issues. We want to establish once and for all the definitive level of preventable harm in the NHS so that we can start to track progress against plans to reduce it. In doing so we hope to establish a methodology that can be rolled out across the globe.
